Summer Trip: Braves and Metro Atlanta Task Force for the Homeless

Before taking in the Braves vs the Dodgers, we’ll lend a hand at the Metro Atlanta Task Force for the Homeless. We will learn more about homelesness in our city as we help to make a difference. Students will need to bring money for dinner.

Whitewater Rafting

High school students will return to the mountains of Tennessee this fall for another refreshing weekend of rafting and worship. We’ll leave early on Saturday morning and spend the day playing Frisbee and relaxing in the fields around the cabins. Saturday night we’ll have a special worship service that is unique to this trip. Following the service, we’ll roast marshmallows around the fire and eat s’mores. Finally, on Sunday, students will raft down the Ocoee River and then enjoy a fast food lunch on the way home. Space is limited, so sign-up early to guarantee your spot.

Middle school students prepare for a weekend of fun and games at Woodlands Camp. Woodlands features a zip-line, waterslide, climbing wall, beach volleyball, pedal boats, basketball, and of course a blob. When we’re not playing games and enjoying the outdoors, we’ll lift praises to our God in four incredible worship experiences. Fianlly, there will be a special activity for our Confirmation 2010 Students. Space is limited, so sign-up early to guarantee your spot.

Confirmation is an exciting time in the lives of our students. Offered every fall for middle school students in an eight week Sunday morning class, confirmation challenges students to examine the basics of their faith on a personal level and make a lifelong commitment to Christ. Each class consists of two teachers and approximately twelve students who will spend the classes together discussing the core principles of our Christian Faith including sin, grace, the trinity, forgiveness, service, practices of the faith, and salvation. At the end of the eight weeks students will have the opportunity to be confirmed and become members of the church. We would like to invite all students that are going to be in 6th-8th grade for the 2010-2011 school year to join us for confirmation by registering below.
